In late 2010 a vision was born on the Mid North Coast to unite the manufacturing industry and its supply chain and work together to address the regional challenges being faced. By 2011 the idea was formalised and 8 industry leaders lead the next 5 years with passion, determination and sheer grit. There has been some great achievements, significant changes within industry relationships and a number of collaborations of great success to note.
Last year some of the fight was lost and the Directors became tired, the commitment on top of running our own enterprises was wearing thin and as a group needed new inspiration and a more time effective vehicle in order for us to continue to achieve for industry, this has now been designed and this blog today forms part of the changes that will be rolled out over the next two years.
For those who do not know about IMNC, what we do and the space in which we occupy a brief overview may help, in order to establish an understanding.
Todays economy is about speed, flexibility and relationships. Industry Mid North Coast, provide the platform for the regional manufacturing and engineering industry to collaborate and solve regional industry challenges together.
Through understanding our regional capabilities and building sound relationships we enhance our competitiveness being able to rely on local availability, specialised skills, knowledge and infrastructure.
Through the power of numbers we create a focus point and give the industry a voice, not only to support our region but to continue state and national conversation of the importance of the industry that feeds innovation, education, and economic growth.
Industry Mid North Coast is not a network but a working industry system where competitors work together to solve identified issues and to build the regional wealth through creating sustainable individual business. We do not provide member services we go not generate income from memberships. We actually do not compete at all with any other organisation in the region, state or country, but rather enhance everything that is out there and assist in creating better connectivity. We are industry ourselves, we work within it every day and seek to showcase the reality of the industry not the perceived arguments that can be at times far from the truth.
Going forward the vehicle that has been created and will continue to be developed is the IMNC web site. Anyone who has a manufacturing or engineering business is welcome to send in a story of something his or her company is doing and it will be up loaded.
Each month there will be a blog written by one of the board members however guest blogs are also encouraged to raise awareness of issues or build regional profile.
This is not a fee for service driven initiative it is free, and we encourage all to send in as many positive stories as you can so that we may begin to build the online presence for the industry and the region.
Industry Mid North Coast will also be holding one event each year to showcase our capability. We had huge success in 2015 and we intend each year to continue to find innovative ways to showcase our business and forester the relationships that have been built and encourage new ones.
I will take this opportunity to again thank the current sitting Directors and those that have sat in the past for their continued support and passion that see’s this great industry and region thrive.
